Your Galveston Bay Fishing Report this week is simple. Good or great weather equals good or great fishing. Sounds simple, but it is so true. This time of the year the weather can determine if you have a good, great or bad day on the water. Spring can be tough at times because of all the fronts, high pressure & especially changes in wind direction. The good news is you can still box some nice fish if you know where to go according to all this issues. That's where your experience & knowledge comes in handy. Fishing isn't rocket science, but there is more skill involved in catching fish. As for our past 2 weeks, fishing was good to excellent. Last week before the big weather change, we were catching limits to near limits on most outings. At the beginning of this week the bite was better in the afternoon. I headed to a different area on Thursday & Matt & Mark caught over 45 trout. We ended up keeping 16. Lots of specks between 14 & 15 inches. The beginning of this week looks bad with high winds & rain in the forecast, but the end of the week & the weekend look good. We are still using live shrimp under a cork. Probably in early May we will start using live croaker. As for locations go, I have been hearing some good reports from all over. West Bay, East Bay & some shorelines are producing good trout. It is going to continue to better as we approach the summer months. I want to thank all our customers over the past 2 weeks. My brother & I have had some great trips & even better clients. Until next time, see you on the water.
