So it has been a long time since I have posted on here. Lol I will be posting some Galveston fishing reports and maybe a few articles and videos on this blog from this point forward. I hope you enjoy the info. and continue to check it out from time to time. Let me tell you a little bit about myself and then I will give you a fishing report. My name is Capt. Alan Pereyra and I have been a professional Galveston Fishing Guide for the past 23 years. The name of my service is Topp Dogg Fishing Guides and my brother and I have run it since the year 2000.

We have worked hard over the years to establish a successful fishing service and have been very blessed. We offer private guided Galveston fishing charters and  Galveston fishing trips  for up to 4 anglers on all the Galveston Bays. We mainly target speckled trout, red fish and flounder, but we also catch some nice drum, sheepshead and seasonal species throughout the year. We fish 7 days a week except for certain holidays. You are welcome to give us a call anytime or check out our website.

Ok as for fishing, it has been a strange year so far. Spring was very good, but this summer has been a little too inconsistent. The weather hasn't been the best for us and that is the main reason. It got very hot earlier than usual this year and the winds have not really laid. We have had a south west wind for over a month and that isn't good for us. It blows out the water and our water level or tides have been low.

I have seen it all as a Galveston Bay fishing guide in my 23 years and I am hoping for all this to change soon and get back to our traditional great summer time fishing. Mother nature has a way of working things out and I believe we just need to get some south east wind days so it can clean up the water.

We have been using live croaker drifting over shell in West Bay for our best results. When the weather has cooperated, we have been catching some nice healthy speckled trout and a few red fish. The bite has been pretty good early in the morning and also here and there throughout the day we will find a good school of trout and wack them.

Like I said we are having some good to great days on the good weather days and it's been a little slower on the windier days. I want to thank all my customers that have fished with us lately and I hope you enjoyed the report and the ones to follow. Until next time, I will see you on the water.

Thanks Capt. Alan
